Training

RUNwild runs a training group for years 3-6 children from Avalon Public School.
The group meets on Wednesday mornings and is focused on the runners enjoying school cross country and improving other running they want to do.

We try to make the training enjoyable, allow personal achievement and to create a good social environment.
We limit the group to 40 runners and regularly have 30-40 kids each week.

A typical session includes:
Warm-up (eg. hops and hurdles)
Skills and drills (focused on establishing basic technique)
Running training (with a focus on the key aspects of cross country)
Warm-down (eg. skipping)

At present, RUNwild training for adults is on hold. This is to allow the focus on kids athletics.
