Run Group Week Four Term Three

Run Group Week Four

Another fantastic morning of training.  Cold, sunny, 25 kids and a beautiful location.

Warm-up was the usual circuit – see photo.

Then across to Palmgrove Park for 6 laps of the bushland circuit.  I love training on that circuit – it is fun for the kids to get away from the flat grass, find some twists and turns and hills, and do something a bit tougher.  Kate found it hard to resist and joined in, though struggled a bit with the talent of our Year 5 girls.

A short jog back and then into school.

Video of the Week

It has been the Athletics World Championships in London, UK this week.  Highlight of the first weekend was the 10,000m.  Mo Farah went in as favourite, as the winner of the previous two World Champs and last two Olympics.  The Kenyan, Ethiopian and Ugandan runners had other ideas though.  It turned into one of the best 10,000m races you would ever want to see and a really fast and hard-fought race.  The clip below shows the last 2km (with Finnish commentary).  Fantastic to see really top class distance running.  Enjoy. . .
